Thind dental dental awareness rally at blind school ludhiana

THIND DENTAL CLINIC in association with COLGATE held a dental awareness cum CHECK- UP camp at District blind school, Jamalpur on 12th august 2009 Dr.Rajan Bir Singh Thind, checked the teeth of students . This camp was held under The Mission Smile programme. Dr.Thind told the blind students about dental diseases and how they are caused. On checking the students most of them were suffering from gum diseases .He told that Gum disease is also known as periodontal disease which is an infection of the tissues and bone that support the teeth. It is usually caused by a build up plaque. . As per Dr.Thind, symptoms of gum diseases are Inflammation with painless swelling, redness, change of normal contours, bleeding, periodontal pocket (gum detachment from teeth).Then he explained about various stages of gum diseases. He told about various ways through which dentists may treat dental problems with treatments like scaling,. According to him periodontitis can be prevented by brushing twice a day,
