The Modern Lovers – The Modern Lovers 1976 (USA, Garage-Psychedelic-Proto-Punk Rock)

The Modern Lovers were an American rock band formed in 1970 in Boston, Massachusetts. They lasted four years, disbanded (without releasing anything) in 1974, and went down in history as one of the most influential proto-punk bands, whose final recordings (according to Trouser Press) "formed a key link between The Velvet Underground and punk rock." In 1976, Jonathan Richman, the member who retained legal rights to the name, reformed the band as Jonathan Richman and The Modern Lovers. This group released eight albums that bore no resemblance to the original lineup's original direction from 1970 to 1974. In 2003, the album was ranked #381 on Rolling Stone magazine's "500 Greatest Albums of All Time" list.

Tracks:

01. Roadrunner – 0:00

02.
