Patrick Woodroffe & Dave Greenslade – The Pentateuch Of The Cosmogony 1979 (UK, Progressive Rock-Electronic)
Patrick Woodroffe & Dave Greenslade – The Pentateuch Of The Cosmogony 1979 (UK, Progressive Rock-Electronic)

The second solo album by keyboardist Dave Greenslade (known to progressive rock fans as a member of the legendary band Colosseum and the frontman of his own band, Greenslade), originally released as a double LP, accompanied by a stunningly designed science fiction book written and illustrated by Patrick Woodroffe, somewhat reminiscent of the works of Roger Dean. This ambitious project remains a fine example of the collaboration between music and graphic art. The music, written and performed by Greenslade on a variety of keyboards (with some drumming by Phil Collins and John Lingwood), marks a departure from his previously improvisational jazz style into a more classical/ambient direction, which disappointed many of his fans at the time of the album's release. However, in retrospect, the music should be appreciated as part of the overall concept, which was quite innovative for its time. The album/book certainly retains much of its artistic value. The deluxe CD reissue includes the complete score and a copy of the original book, packaged together in a box set.

Tracks:
01. Introit - 4:05
02. Moondance - 3:07
03.
