FIRE AT ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP NEPAL <br />WITH VID<br />BY SALONI MATHUR<br />This footage captures the terrifying moment a massive fire broke out at Nepal’s Annapurna Base Camp.<br />The fire broke out at Peaceful Lodge, in Annapurna Base Camp, on Tuesday afternoon, destroying property but causing no human casualties. <br />According to Jayram Dahal, a mountain climbing guide, the fire was caused by a gas leak at the camp and destroyed all physical property of the hotel. <br />Annapurna Base Camp is situated at an altitude of 4,130 meters and is a busy tourist destination.<br />At the time of the incident, there were some guests staying at the lodge at the time. <br />He said: “The fire broke out in the afternoon due to a gas leak while cooking at the lodge.<br />“The blaze destroyed the lodge’s store, rooms, kitchen, and hall, and also burned tourists’ belongings, including mobile phones and cameras.<br />“The lodge has been completely damaged and is no longer in a usable condition.”<br />ENDs
