In Sahih al-Bukhari 34, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) warns that anyone possessing these four traits is a "pure hypocrite," and anyone with one of them has a "characteristic of hypocrisy" until they give it up.<br /><br />The 4 Traits Explained:<br /><br /> Betraying Trust: Whenever he is entrusted, he betrays.<br /><br /> Lying: Whenever he speaks, he tells a lie.<br /><br /> Breaking Covenants: Whenever he makes a covenant (formal agreement), he proves treacherous.<br /><br /> Evil in Arguments: Whenever he quarrels, he behaves in a very imprudent, insulting, and evil manner (Fajara).<br /><br />The "Fajara" Warning:<br />The most striking addition in this Hadith is the behavior during a conflict. A true believer remains just and well-mannered even when angry.
