Cuba: Solar systems to be installed in remote communities of Holguin province

The Cuban eastern province of Holguin received Friday solar kits for remote communities as part of what is known as the Turquino Plan, a government strategy to expand access to electricity in the island's mountain areas. One of the communities covered by the project is Melva, near the Alejandro de Humboldt National Park, where the installation of solar panels will provide power to homes and communities that are not connected to the national grid. The implementation of these solar systems aims to improve families' quality of life, facilitate access to basic services, and strengthen sustainable development in hard-to-reach areas.
