Contend for the original faith from the apostles of Jesus Christ

You have to contend for the apostles’ doctrine, the doctrine which the apostles of Jesus have given to us, and which is not going to be changed. And one of the big things that has happened and which I hope I’ve illustrated to you in this talk is that people have consistently tried to change the apostles’ doctrine very early on. You could see the emergence of what became Roman Catholicism was changing a whole lot of things in the apostles’ doctrine and substituting it with other words. And even though the Protestant Reformation recovered much of it, still then, they added things and took things away from the apostles’ doctrine.
