My country 'tis of thee <br />Built on the backs of slavery <br />Of thee I sing <br />Of hypocrisy in history books <br />Land of the free <br />Stolen by greedy thieves and crooks <br />Native Americans slain by the millions <br />Tribes annihilated in cold blood <br />Unanswered prayers of resilience <br /> <br />Civil War echoes through the night <br />Black folk ain't got no rights <br />But they still gotta fight <br />Kill or be killed <br />Only to retreat to the cotton field <br /> <br />I pledge allegiance to the flag <br />Of these delusional states <br />Where it goes unnoticed the rising numbers <br />Of people preaching hate <br />And to the Republicans for which I can't stand <br />Quick to spend billions to help a sovereign land <br />Ignoring our veterans and homeless with no helping hand <br />One Nation, disgraced by God <br />Thinking themselves invincible to the strike of His mighty rod <br />With liberty and justice for who?<br /><br />B.E.
